ANEL MP's resignation put off until after vote on FYROM's NATO accession protocol

With the domestic political landscape in an increasingly fluid state, Independent Greeks (ANEL) MP Thanasis Papachristopoulos did not give up his parliamentary seat on Friday, as he had announced he would do, after Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis asked him to wait until MPs have voted on the NATO accession protocol for the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia next week.

Independent Greeks (ANEL) MP Thanasis Papachristopoulos did not give up his parliamentary seat on Friday, as he had announced a day earlier, after Parliament President Nikos Voutsis asked him to wait until lawmakers have voted on the NATO accession protocol for the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) next week.

Parliament resumes debate on foster care bill

Greek parliament resumed on Tuesday a debate in its plenary session over a labor ministry draft bill that will extend the right of fostering a child to couples that have signed a cohabitation agreement, including same-sex couples.

The discussion started with the political party rapporteurs and will conclude on Wednesday with a vote on the bill.

Gov't refutes ANEL MP's comment on 'friendly relations' with Savvidis
