Hundreds stuck on Samothraki
Hundreds of tourists on Tuesday remained stranded on Samothraki since Sunday due to a combination of powerful winds and a breakdown of the main ferry linking the northern Aegean island to the port city of Alexandroupoli on the mainland.

The damages that the island sustained from the extremely heavy rainfall all through Monday night had its toll on the properties of everyone there and on the infrastructure of the island.

China has always believed in the Greek economy and the country’s efforts to achieve a quick recovery, the Chinese Ambassador to Greece Zou Xiaoli said on Thursday, during a visit to Alexandroupolis.
“China has always had confidence in the Greek economy and your efforts to achieve a rapid recovery,” the ambassador said after his meeting with city mayor Vangelis Lambrakis.
