The industrial area of Tripoli, in central Peloponnese, is developing into a center for research and production of medicines, as investments amounting to 180 million euros are planned in the next period, creating more than 1,000 new direct jobs.

Greek pharmaceuticals manufacturer ELPEN will have completed investments of 155 million euros by the end of 2025 in production and research facilities with a total area of 55,000 sq.m., said the vice president of ELPEN Pharmaceutical and co-CEO of ELPEN Group, Theodoros Tryfon, on Tuesday.

The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce is on Thursday organizing an online public debate on the role the industry could play in the future, titled "Greek Industry and the New Growth Model: Necessary Reforms."
