As Tiodorovi said for today's edition of "Blic", no changes in the measures are possible now, because too little time has passed since the omicron strain appeared in Serbia, which is why there is no clear study and complete insight into the situation.

Dr Tiodorovic pointed out that more and more children, educators and doctors are infected.
He told RTS that the clinical pictures are very complicated and that it will be a big problem if the flu appears in a more serious form.

As he said, children lose the most when they switch to online classes.
"There is a proposal that we constituted the day before yesterday, and that is that children should still go to school," Dr Tiodorovi told RTS.

He told the citizens not to do that anymore, because neither of them is to blame for anything.

He added that the coronavirus does not recognize "Serbs doing things out of spite".
According to him, the situation in the country must be urgently resolved with the most rigorous measures and a large coverage of vaccination in the shortest possible time.

He explained that the COVID passes will be needed after 10 p.m. in restaurants and cafes, because people relax during that period and do not respect the measures.

"At the moment, the exit strategy is very clear. Within 10 to 15 days, vaccinate 20 to 25 percent of those who have not been vaccinated. If we now have 53 percent of those vaccinated, the rest are unvaccinated, and the virus is maintained there. Moreover, it maintains changes and creates new opportunities for different strains", says Tiodorovi.

"It happened earlier than we expected but it did not surprise us. It is obvious that many more factors led to this increase. The epidemiological situation is uncertain, with a tendency to be unfavorable," said Tiodorovi, adding that the increase in hospitalization was smaller.
However, he points out that the number of deaths has grown.

"We are so used to it, and when it comes to the flu, we receive first two, and then a new one every year. We will probably have that situation with this disease as well," the epidemiologist pointed out.

All data are moving in the right direction, but the goal is to go below 100 infections a day and come closer to the number of 60 to 70 percent of immunized citizens, Tiodorovi emphasizes.
