Bulgaria is heading to its seventh election in three years after the Speaker of the National Assembly, Raya Nazaryan, refused President Rumen Radev's offer to be the next acting Prime Minister. The two discussed this possibility in a meeting at the presidency after "There Is Such a People" (TISP) returned the unfulfilled third mandate.

The parliamentary factions of "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) and "There Is Such a People" (TISP) convened to explore potential agreements for forming a government under a third mandate.

Bulgarian right-wing party "Revival" (Vazrazhdane) has declared it will not support a government backed by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), regardless of Peevski's involvement. Kostadin Kostadinov, the party chairman, emphasized this stance during a meeting with "There Is Such a People" (TISP) for potential support on the third mandate.

Independent MPs supporting DPS Honorary Chairman Ahmed Dogan met with the There Is Such a People (TISP) parliamentary group to discuss forming a majority for a third mandate. Both parties found common ground and expressed readiness to form a regular cabinet.

He highlighted that this is the last opportunity for the 50th National Assembly to establish a government and make a meaningful impact.

The coalition "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) has declined an invitation from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) to engage in negotiations for forming a government with the second mandate.

GERB and DPS are seven votes short of forming a regular government. Tomorrow, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will decide whether to support the first mandate at a party executive bureau meeting, OFFNews reported.

An expert cabinet is the only viable option during a political crisis, according to Toshko Yordanov, chairman of the parliamentary group of "There Is Such a People" (TISP). During consultations with President Rumen Radev, Yordanov suggested that if the third mandate were given to TISP, they should start developing a program immediately.

Raya Nazaryan has assumed the role of Speaker of the 50th National Assembly with the backing of GERB, DPS, and "There Is Such a People" (TISP), securing 131 votes in favor, while 66 were against and 39 abstained. Her election followed two days of negotiations and procedural delays.

Boyko Borissov, the leader of GERB, announced that forming a government is currently not feasible. Raya Nazaryan is being proposed for the Speaker of the Parliament, and today's vote on her candidacy will determine the continuation of negotiations with other parties. Borissov emphasized that the vote will reveal whether a government can be formed in this parliament.
