Turkey’s largest tech event ends with dazzling shows
Teknofest, Turkey's largest technology and aerospace event, ended on Sept. 26 with breathtaking closing ceremonies and the dazzling coordinated performances of the Turkish air forces.
The five-day event held at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport included a host of activities such as air shows with warplanes and helicopters, seminars and summits, as well as competitions and fairs.

Turkey's Nobel laureate in chemistry Aziz Sancar on Sept. 24 attended the top-notch technology event Teknofest, and said that it "made me really proud."
"I came here to promote science and technology in Turkey and the Turkish world. What I saw here really made me proud and encouraged me," he said in his address in Istanbul.
Don't come to US, family support key in cancer treatment, Turkish Nobel laureate tells patients
Turkish-American scientist Aziz Sancar, the winner of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, has advised cancer patients to stay in Turkey and not go to the U.S., stressing the importance of family support in overcoming cancer.
"I tell cancer patients: 'Do not come to America,'" Sancar said on May 8 during a program broadcast on the U.S.-based Voice of America radio station.

Nobel laureate Aziz Sancar to take award to Atatürk's mausoleum

Turkish-American scientist wins Nobel Prize
A Turkish-American DNA scientist is among the three names to win this year's Nobel Prize in chemistry, the award-giving body announced on Oct. 7.
Aziz Sancar, Sweden's Tomas Lindahl, and the U.S.-based Paul Modrich won the prize for work on mapping how cells repair damaged DNA.
