Presidential Debate: Radev vs Gerdjikov on Thursday

BNT will organize and broadcast the only debate between presidential candidates Rumen Radev and Anastas Gerdjikov.

They will be in prime time on the public media program on Thursday at 8 p.m.

Fully in the tradition of social media, the debate will cover important topics for society, in which the main role is played by the presidential institution.

President Radev Comments on New Contender in Presidential Race Sofia University Rector

Speaking to journalists during a visit to a children's hospital on Friday, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev commented on Thursday's news that Sofia University Rector Anastas Gerdjikov had agreed to run in the November 14 presidential elections as an independent candidate.

GERB Parliamentary Leader Tsvetanov Resigns from Bulgarian Parliament

Tsvetan Tsvetanov, the parliamentary leader of Bulgarian Prime Minister Borissov's GERB party, said that he was resigning from Parliament He told a briefing in Parliament on 27th of March. Tsvetanov said he would keep his position as GERB Deputy Chairpesron and head of the party's election campaign headquarters, reports BNT. 

Dessislava Ahladova Appointed Acting Minister of Justice of Bulgaria

Deputy Minister of Justice Desislava Ahladova on 25th of March was appointed as temporary acting Minister of Justice. She will replace Tsetska Tsacheva, who resigned on Saturday, reports BNT. 

Ahladova will remain in office until the Parliament votes the resignation of Tsetska Tsacheva and the cabinet nominates a new minister of justice.

Bulgaria's anti-corruption commission starts an investigation following media publications and alerts from non-governmental organisations regarding the purchase of high-end apartments at prices lower than the market value prices by politicians from the ruling majority, reports BNT.
