Turkish celebs help UN get word out about coronavirus

Turkish celebrities are helping the U.N. get the word out about coronavirus with their legions of followers and new audiences, the World Health Organization said on May 7.
The WHO said that live broadcasts with famous Turkish celebrities such as actress Tuba Büyüküstün are being posted across various social media platforms, including Instagram and YouTube.

Ottoman conquest of Istanbul to be focus of Netflix’s new Turkish series

The period of the rise of the Ottoman Empire will be the center of the new Netflix series "Rise of Empires: Ottoman."

The series will focus on the period of the conquest of Istanbul and the rule of Ottoman Emperor Mehmet II, who conquered the city from the Byzantines in 1453.

Turkish drama star visits Jordan refugee camp

Turkish actress Tuba Büyüküstün, who is the most popular actress in the Arab world and last year became the good will ambassador of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), went to Jordan to visit thousands of women and children who escaped from the civil war in bordering Syria and took shelter in the Zaatari refugee camp.
