Germany won't make "greater contribution" to anti-IS fight

Germany's defense minister has rejected the U.S. call for her country to make more contribution to the military effort in the fight against Islamic State.

Germany is already engaged in a number of military fronts in the fight against extremist groups, including Mali and Afghanistan, said Ursula von der Leyen.

German minister in Turkey for base talk

German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen visited Turkey Dec. 3 to conduct talks with her counterpart, ?smet Y?lmaz.

Although no official decision has been taken yet, German and Turkish officials have been working on finalizing a memorandum of understanding on the basis of Germany's proposals, diplomatic sources told the Hürriyet Daily News.
