Bulgaria's Coalition Government to Table Amendments to Speed up the Process of Granting Citizenship

Bulgaria's coalition government is to table in the National Assembly proposed amendments to the Bulgarians Abroad Act and the Bulgarian Citizenship Act to speed up the process of granting citizenship to applicants from non-EU countries, quoted by the Independent Balkan News Agency.  Principal beneficiaries are expected to be those claiming Bulgarian citizenship by descent.

Bulgarian Council of Ministers Approves Draft Agreement on Labour Migration with Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine

At its regular weekly sitting, the Council of Ministers approved draft agreements on labour migration with Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine.

After the sitting Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov, who is in charge of Bulgarians abroad, announced that persons wishing to work in Bulgaria for a period of 90 days will now be able to obtain the documents required within the space of 7 days.

State starts inspections in Sunny Beach resort

The government started massive inspections in the Sunny Beach resort over the weekend to guarantee calm for tourists, the government's press office said.
The inspections comprise vehicles in the resort, recreational activities and commerce. The authorities found irregularities among vehicles and commercial businesses.

Deputy PM Valeri Simeonov: It is better to have dialogue with Turkey

It is better to have a dialogue with Turkey than an exacerbation in relations, Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov told BTV's morning show.
The recent visit of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to Turkey and his meeting with Turkish President Recep Erdogan was a right move. Turkey is a neighbor country with which Bulgaria has to deal carefully, Simeonov said.
