A breath of fresh air for a cramped Athens district

The City of Athens on Wednesday announced the completion of a restoration project at the park, which had been the subject of an ownership dispute between the municipality and the Hellenic Red Cross.

The stigma

In 1994, Greek director Alexis Bistikas was the first public figure to openly admit that he was suffering from AIDS. A year later, this charismatic man, who was already known for his brilliant work, passed away, aged 31. It was preceded by the death of the then known fashion designer Billy Bo (real name Vassilis Kourkoumelis) in 1987.

Islands want to self-isolate

Local authorities, especially on the Greek islands and in regions far from large urban centers, are calling on the government to take further measures to ban the unnecessary movement of people within the country to halt the spread of the coronavirus.
