UNICEF: More than 117 Million Children at Risk of Missing out on Measles Vaccines, because of the COVID-19 Pandemic

More than 117 million children worldwide could be deprived of measles vaccination within the prescribed timeframe due to a new type of coronavirus pandemic, according to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

The Fund noted that measles vaccination is currently delayed in 24 countries due to the pandemic.

Total of 581 Coronavirus Cases in Bulgaria, 42 Cured

There are already 581 positive samples for coronavirus in Bulgaria, the chief of staff Ventsislav Mutafchiiski said . The 24-hour increase was almost 3 percent. There are no new areas of the country with registered COVID-19 patients.

In Sofia, 11 cases, Stara Zagora - 3, Kardzhali - 1, Plovdiv - 1 are the new patients.

477 COVID-19 Infected in Bulgaria

477 are the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria according to data from the National Operational Headquarters. A 4-year-old child who has bilateral pneumonia is likely to be intubated, said the chief of staff, Gen. Ventsislav Mutafchiiski. The death toll has increased by two. So far, 12 people have died.

412 COVID-19 Infected in Bulgaria

113 of the patients are hospitalized. The intubated are in intensive care units.

354 COVID-19 Infected in Bulgaria

The total number of coronavirus infected in Bulgaria is 354, said the head of the National Operations Headquarters, Professor Ventsislav Mutafchiiski.

So far, 15 people have been cured, 8 people have died, with an average age of the dead - 66 years.

The most infected are in Sofia, where 13 cases were registered in the last 24 hours.
