Memorial event pays tribute to victims of anti-Jewish Bucharest pogrom
The Federation of the Romanian Jewish Communities (FCER) organized on Thursday an online commemorative event to pay tribute to the victims of the anti-Jewish legionary pogrom in Bucharest (January 21 - 23, 1941).
New Roman Catholic Archbishop of Alba Iulia installed with thousands of pilgrims in attendance
Monsignor Kovács Gergely was consecrated and installed as the new Roman Catholic Archbishop of Alba Iulia in a ceremony celebrated on Saturday at the St. Michael Cathedral of Alba Iulia, with dozens of ecclesiastical officials - cardinals, bishops, representatives of the other Churches in Transylvania - attending.
Queen Helen's remains arrive in Romania
Mother Queen Helen's remains were brought back to the country on Friday, landing at the Otopeni International Airport in an aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Forces.
