Beşiktaş move to Turkish Cup final with extra time goal

Beşiktaş qualified for the Ziraat Turkish Cup final after defeating Medipol Başakşehir 3-2 in a semifinal clash on March 16. 

Vincent Aboubakar netted the opener for the home side in the 17th minute at Beşiktaş's Vodafone Park, while Domagoj Vida scored a header five minutes later to double the lead in the first half.

Sivasspor hold Galatasaray to 2-2 draw

Beşiktaş climbed atop the Turkish Süper Lig standings over the weekend after Galatasaray was held to a shocking 2-2 draw against Sivasspor at home on March 7.

Beşiktaş had won 2-1 against Gaziantep the previous day to increase its point tally to 60, two points ahead of second-placed Galatasaray despite playing one fewer game.

Beşiktaş loses Süper Lig’s top spot

Trabzonspor came from behind to beat Beşiktaş with a 2-1 in an away game on the night of Jan. 31, making the home side lose its top spot in the Turkish Süper Lig standings.

Beşiktaş scored the first goal of the game in the 29th minute when Cameroonian forward Vincent Aboubakar's header beat Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Çakır.

Trabzonspor comeback to beat Beşiktaş 2-1

Trabzonspor on Jan. 31 fought hard against Beşiktaş to have a 2-1 victory in a key game in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Beşiktaş scored the opener in the minute 29 as Cameroonian forward Vincent Aboubakar's header beat Trabzonspor goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır at the Vodafone Park in Istanbul.

This was Aboubakar's 12th league goal in the 2020-21 season.
