Bulgarian Economist Vladimir Karolev has Passed Away
After a long struggle to save his life, this morning, around 01.00 in "Tokuda", the economist Vladimir Karolev died, the hospital announced.
The economist died at the age of 60 after failing to recover from a severe fall in Pirin on May 8th.
In September, he was transferred from Pirogov to Tokuda, where they continued to fight for his life. He spent half a year in a coma.
Bulgaria: Economist Vladimir Karolev Found in Pirin Mountain in Grave Condition
Prominent Bulgarian economist Vladimir Karolev, who disappeared on May 9 under the Todorka peak in Pirin Mountain, was found on May 10 a little after midnight, the Mountain Rescue Service in Bansko told BNR-Radio Blagoevgrad. Karolev was found in a critical condition near Zhabeshko Lake. He was unconscious and carried down the mountain by the mountain rescuers.
Uber Might Soon Become Illegal in Bulgaria
New legislative changes have been adopted in the first round of voting in Bulgarian National Assembly. In case the second round of voting also turns out to be favorable, that would practically make the Uber business model illegal.
The texts have been proposed by center-right GERB MPs Tsvetomir Mihov and Ivan Valkov.

A total of 42% of Bulgarians retire early, while the numbers in the rest of Europe are down to 27%.
There are several reasons for such early retirement, the main one being the low salaries and pensions in Bulgaria, economist Vladimir Karolev told Nova TV, Friday.
