Russia plans to sign an agreement with Turkey next month on the implementation of the Turkish Stream gas export pipeline project, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak was quoted as saying on Sept. 10.

Turkey, which has sent dozens of tanks and hundreds of troops into Syria as part of the Euphrates Shield operation, on Sept. 10 welcomed a deal agreed by the United States and Russia for a cease-fire in its conflict-torn neighbor.

The United States and Russia grappled over a possible cease-fire deal for Syria on Sept. 9 ahead of the Eid al-Adha starting on Sept. 12, as resurgent Moscow-backed regime forces tightened the noose on the beleaguered city of Aleppo.     

A councilor from the ruling Polish Law and Justice Party in the town of Poznan has accused the local zoo of being "a Russian agent."

Michal Grzes has accordingly submitted a formal question to the mayor where he claims that the zoo is implementing "a foreign power's strategy" - specifically, that of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on Sept. 8 agreed to intensify efforts to convince warring parties in Syria on a cease-fire in Aleppo, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Vladimir Putin has said that the West negates the right of the people to self-determination in Crimea, while referring to it in the case of Kosovo.

The Russian president spoke for Bloomberg when he said that "nothing can be done against the will of the people," but that "it seems that some of our partners fail to understand this."

An important meeting will take place in London today in which the future of Syria will be discussed with the participation of Riyad Hijab, the general coordinator of the High Negotiations Committee (HNC) and the representative of Syrian opposition forces, who will make a presentation about his vision on the political transition process in the war-torn country. 

The Turkish side has suggested the possibility of supplying natural gas through the Turkish Stream pipeline to Turkey's border with Greece, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told reporters on Sept. 5, the TASS news agency has reported.
