Bulgarian Nationalist Party Seeks Abolition of Daylight Saving Time

Bulgarian nationalist party Ataka has proposed the abolition of the yearly switch between standard time and daylight saving time (DST).

Ataka MPs, as cited by dnevnik.bg, noted that the long years of experience since the introduction of the daylight saving system in Bulgaria in 1979 had shown that it was an unfavorable move.

Bulgarian Nationalist Leader Calls for Stripping President of Immunity

Volen Siderov, leader of Bulgarian nationalist party Ataka, has called for stripping President Rosen Plevneliev of immunity from prosecution.

Siderov announced Friday in Parliament that a petition had been launched for establishing an ad-hoc inquiry committee which would be tasked with investigating "unauthorized" meetings of President Plevneliev.

Five members of Bulgaria's ultranationalist Ataka party will travel to Crimea as monitors of Sunday's referendum for the autonomous province's future.
