The Duke of Edinburgh's funeral took place at St George's Chapel, with the Dean of Windsor paying tribute to Prince Philip's "unwavering loyalty to the Queen" and "service to the nation".

The congregation were wearing masks and socially distancing in line with Covid rules, with the Queen seated alone.

A car crashed into a security barrier before the driver lunged towards the officers with a knife, police said.

The officers opened fire and the suspect was shot dead.

A Capitol Police officer has died after a man rammed a car into two officers at a barricade outside the U.S. Capitol and then emerged wielding a knife. It was the second line-of-duty death this year for a department still struggling to heal from the Jan. 6 insurrection.
