Turkey taking necessary security measures, Ankara says to Israel

Turkey is taking necessary security measures concerning the fight against terrorism, Ankara said on June 14 in response to Israel raising its travel advisory to the highest level because of what it said was a threat of Iranian attempts to kill or abduct Israelis vacationing in Turkey.

Dozens hurt in clashes at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque: Red Crescent

Fresh clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque  injured 42 people on April 29, the Palestinian Red Crescent said, following weeks of violence at the flashpoint site.

The unrest came on the final Friday in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. None of the injuries were serious, the Red Crescent said, adding that 22 people had been taken to hospital.

Çavuşoğlu, Israel’s Lapid hold phone call

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held a phone conversation with his Israeli counterpart, Yair Lapid, on Feb. 20 ahead of a visit by Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Turkey.

The conversation came after a Turkish delegation, headed by presidential spokesperson İbrahim Kalın and Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Önal, visited Israel last week.

The conversation comes amid recent rapprochement attempts between the two countries after years of strain mainly due to the Palestinian issue.
