Turkey's disaster agency is not only housing and assisting the country's nearly 3 million refugees but also actively working to help 40 disaster-stricken countries around the world, the president of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has told daily Hürriyet upon receiving the 20th prestigious Ayd?n Do?an Award for its outstanding efforts in Turkey and abroad. 

Kilis mayor says ISIL rockets aimed at Deputy PM

The main target of rockets fired the by Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) on April 24 was the Kilis Governor's Office building and Deputy Prime Minister Yalç?n Akdo?an, who was visiting the southeastern border province at the time, according to Kilis Mayor Hasan Kara, who called on the town's residents who have left over mounting security concerns to return.

The U.S.-led coalition hit Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) targets in northern Syria, located directly across Turkey's Syrian border from the southeastern province of Kilis, after receiving coordinates from Turkey on April 25. The air strikes came in response to a series of ISIL attacks on Kilis, which houses more Syrian refugees than its population.

One killed, 10 wounded after second explosion caused by rockets in Turkey's Kilis

One person was killed and 10 others were wounded when a second explosion has occurred in the border province of Kilis on April 24, Deputy Prime Minister Yalç?n Akdo?an has announced.

Injuries reported after second explosion caused by rockets in Turkey's Kilis

A second explosion has occurred in the border province of Kilis on April 24 when another two rockets hit the province, hours after an earlier incident which left 16 wounded.

Two projectiles fired from Syria hit a mosque, just 100 meters away from the Kilis Governor's Office. 

According to initial reports, there were injuries in the incident.
