Ancient trireme open to public

The Olympias, a reconstruction of a 5th century BC Athenian trireme, anchored at the Zea Marina in Piraeus port Thursday for the fifth straight year as part of the Sea Days 2019 initiative to raise public awareness on the marine environment.
The ship, belonging to the Hellenic Navy, was welcomed Thursday by Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis.

The Benaki Museum's Pireos Street annex has extended its successful retrospective exhibition on the great Greek painter Yiannis Moralis (1916-2009) to February 10, due to popular demand. One of the country's leading 20th-century artists, Moralis was a painter, print-maker, set designer and teacher, and excelled in all his different capacities.

Int'l compensation agency heralded as two beaches opened after spill

The International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund (IOPC) will be opening an office in Greece for the first time, Deputy Shipping Minister Nektarios Santorinios announced on Thursday, saying the agency will address claims from businesses that incurred losses as a result of the recent Agia Zoni II oil spill.

Nikos Nikolaou | Thessaloniki | To October 27

The MIET Bookshop in Thessaloniki is hosting an exhibition of works by Greek artist Nikos Nikolaou. The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first features works connected to theater, including costume and set designs while the second is dedicated to his murals. Nikos Nikolaou was born on the island of Hydra in 1909.
