How to Help People in Ukraine if You are in Bulgaria

The Municipality of Plovdiv will provide accommodation for Bulgarians coming from Ukraine.

Plovdiv mayor Zdravko Dimitrov has banned the sale, serving and consumption of alcohol in public catering establishments and other public places on April 4, the day of Bulgaria's parliamentary elections.

The ban will be in effect from 6am until 9pm on Sunday. Voting in Bulgaria's parliamentary elections is scheduled to end at 8pm.

The Mayor of Plovdiv Zdravko Dimitrov-Ziko has been in politics for long and can be defined as a political veteran. His posture is remarkable (he's a former basketball player) as well as his rhetoric and his unwavering standwhen it comes to taking decisions and actions.

Plovdiv residents have elected the current governor, who is from GERB, as the new mayor. 57.1% of voters voted for Zdravko Dimitrov. 37.3 percent of Plovdiv's ballots were in favour of his opponent, Slavcho Atanasov, 

The CEC published the results of the first-round local elections in the country with 100% tally sheets processed.

The CEC began exporting the first data from the processing of election protocols. Here's what the data shows at 11:20.

In Sofia - with 44.49% of protocols counted - Yordanka Fandakova has 36.57% ahead of Maya Manolova, which has 27.30%. There will be a runoff in Sofia next week.

There will be second round of local election in Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv as well, BNT reported.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov's party GERB on August 15 named its candidates for mayors of Plovdiv, Rousse, and Haskovo in the forthcoming local government elections in October 2019, reports BNT

The incumbent mayors in the three cities are from the GERB party, but they are not among the newly named candidates.

Prime Minister Boyko Borisov personally went to calm down the organisers of a three-month protest by the residents of Plovdiv's Karshiyaka district against the intention of a private investor to build on 16 decares of green space behind the St. Petersburg Hotel, near the city center.

In 2018, BGN 7,5 million were generated from organized hunting tourism, which is by BGN 900,000  more than the previous year, reported Econ.bg

This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forests Rumen Porozhanov at the opening of the 25th International Exhibition "Nature, hunting, fishing" in Plovdiv.
