Albanian Police seized 18 illegal weapons bases on Thursday in the capital, Tirana, which they believe are connected to organised crime groups and arrested five people. Another two were declared wanted.

The police operation, codenamed "Complex", also helped uncover three past unsolved crimes related to guns and explosives.

One person was killed while five others were wounded in an attack by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) on Syrian migrants in the Şemdinli district of the southeastern province of Hakkari on Sept. 25.
 

The administration of a religious vocational high school in the western province of Aydın has filed complaint against a group of students for listening to Kurdish music and dancing the "halay" folk dance. 

Over 350 plaster bars covered in gold paint were found in a cave in the southern province of Antalya on Dec. 29 and four treasure hunters were detained. 

Police in the southern province of Adana apprehended five outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) suspects on Oct. 4 as they were allegedly preparing to stage simultaneous car bomb attacks, Doğan News Agency has reported.
