One police officer, two soldiers, four civilians and 12 PKK militants were killed during the clashes between security forces and outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the southeastern Turkey as guns were seized in cell houses of the PKK.

One police officer was killed on Jan. 16 after being injured in clashes between security forces and outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the Sur district of Diyarbak?r, southeast Turkey.
The 35-year-old officer, Ali Bulduk, died at the Diyarbak?r Military Hospital and his body was sent to the southern province of Adana for his funeral.
VICE News journalist released in Turkey after 131 days arrested
VICE News journalist and fixer Mohammed Rasool, who was arrested in southeastern Turkey 131 days ago, was finally released from jail on Jan. 5.
Lawyer Muhammed Ne?et Girasun had demanded Rasool's release, citing a lack of evidence for alleged links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the longevity of his arrest.

The cartoons that won the 32nd Ayd?n Do?an International Cartoon Competition will go on display in the southern province of Adana on Jan. 5. The exhibition at the 75'inci Y?l Art Gallery will remain open until Jan. 20.
More than 780 artists from 66 different countries participated in the competition, in which the jury evaluated 2,289 works.
