Turkey Conducts Airstrikes on 17 Suspected PKK Targets

Turkey conducted a new series of airstrikes overnight, hitting 17 suspected Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets in the southeastern part of the country on the border with Iran and Iraq.

According to a statement of the Turkish General Staff, the airstrikes were aimed at "terrorist targets" around the Buzul mountain and Ikiyaka region in Hakkari province.

Three ISIL-linked Russians arrested in southern Turkey

Three Russian members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have been arrested in the southern province of Adana.

"Three foreign nationals believed to be ISIL members have been arrested by the Adana Provincial Gendarmerie Command in Adana's Yumurtal?k district," the Turkish General Staff said in a written statement on Aug 9.

Four prosecutors arrested in Syria-bound intel trucks case transferred to Ankara

The four prosecutors who ordered the stopping and searching of Syria-bound intelligence trucks in January 2014 and were later arrested on charges of attempting to topple the government, were transferred to Ankara late Aug. 2, from Turkey's southern district of Tarsus. 

PKK Bombs Railway in Turkey's Kars, Police Kills Three Kurdish Rebels in Agri

Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) rebels have bombed a railway line in Turkey's eastern province of Kars and then fired at repair workers, killing one, the BBC reported.

The attack, which took place on Thursday, is the latest in the surge in violence after a fragile two-year ceasefire between PKK and the Turkish government broke last week.

In an attempt to stop violence against women and sexual harassment cases, public transportation vehicles in Turkey?s southern province of Adana will now have panic buttons. Drivers of public transportation will also need to obtain a drug-free report.
