Firefighters struggle as wildfires rage in Kemer

Firefighting teams have been struggling to contain a massive wildfire in the southern province of Antalya's Kemer district for the second consecutive day, as authorities have informed that approximately 180 hectares of land have been reduced to ashes as of late July 25, with extreme temperatures scorching Türkiye and the region.

Teams struggle to contain fires ravaging Antalya

Large-scale wildfires have been ravaging parts of Türkiye amid intensifying heatwaves, with the latest one engulfing tourist hotspot Antalya's Kemer district, as firefighting crews pace up efforts to contain them.

As Türkiye, like the rest of the world, is recently experiencing record-breaking temperatures and heatwaves, teams are facing prolonged battles with numerous forest fires.

Necropolis area becomes a museum

The East Garage Necropolis Area, which was once a public market in the southern province of Antalya and where archaeological excavations started after the discovery of rock tombs, has been transferred to the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

With the project, which had a cost of approximately 292 million Turkish liras, the necropolis area has been opened as a museum.

Applications start for Golden Orange Film Festival

Applications for the National Feature, National Short Feature and National Documentary Film Competitions and the Literary Adaptation Screenplay Competition of the 60th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival started on July 17.

The festival will be held by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality between Oct. 7 and 14 this year in the southern province of Antalya.
