In a bid to promote agricultural development and increase tropical fruit diversity, a project named "Hobby Garden and Tropical Fruit Promotion Center" has been initiated in the southern province of Antalya's Alanya district.

Approximately 6,900 hectares of land have been reduced into ashes in 1,022 forest fires since the beginning of the year, with a significant portion of this damage occurring during the fires that took place between July 10 and 18, Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı has informed.

With people overwhelmed by the heat flocking to forests and beaches to cool off, approximately 18 tons of garbage have been removed from the Belgrade Forest over the weekend, Istanbul Municipality has reported, while a group of volunteers in the southern province of Antalya cleared up Konyaaltı Beach from trash.

As Türkiye, like the rest of the world, is recently experiencing record-breaking temperatures and heatwaves, teams are facing prolonged battles with numerous forest fires.

The East Garage Necropolis Area, which was once a public market in the southern province of Antalya and where archaeological excavations started after the discovery of rock tombs, has been transferred to the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

With the project, which had a cost of approximately 292 million Turkish liras, the necropolis area has been opened as a museum.

The Culture and Tourism Ministry has announced that the number of free five-star public beaches will be increased to 35 across the country.

The average home-sale price in Türkiye climbed to 2.54 million Turkish Liras ($96,359) in June, according to data by Endeksa, which collects data on the real estate market.

Home prices climbed by 110 percent year-on-year to 19,653 liras/square meter.

In May, the average sale price was 2.45 million liras.

Applications for the National Feature, National Short Feature and National Documentary Film Competitions and the Literary Adaptation Screenplay Competition of the 60th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival started on July 17.

The festival will be held by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality between Oct. 7 and 14 this year in the southern province of Antalya.
