Bank manager who looted millions caught after 19 years
Istanbul police have caught the suspect wanted for 19 years on charges of embezzling $4.5 million and 500,000 pounds by getting his customers to sign blank receipts while working as a manager at a bank.
2,000-year-old sarcophagus found in Istanbul
A sarcophagus determined to belong to the Roman era has been unearthed during the excavation works of an apartment demolished within the scope of the urban transformation project in Istanbul.
The sarcophagus came to light during the foundation excavation of the demolished building in the Büyükçekmece district.

Former Turkish footballer arrested over FETÖ links
Former footballer Zafer Biryol, who was wanted for "being a member of an armed terrorist organization," has been caught in an operation against FETÖ's "football structure" in Istanbul's Büyükçekmece district.
He was found to attend the FETÖ's meetings, visit Fethullah Gülen, the ringleader of the organization, in 2006 and have an account in Bank Asya, a FETÖ-linked bank.

More than 10 partygoers detained in Istanbul for violating virus rules
Some 11 people have been detained after throwing a party in Istanbul's Büyükçekmece district and sharing videos on social media outlets.
"Actions have been taken against those individuals for violating the regulations regarding the infectious disease and the public health law," the Istanbul Governor's Office said in a statement.
