Heavy snowfall to blanket parts of Türkiye
With heavy snowfall expected on the weekend in the western Black Sea and southeastern and eastern Anatolia regions, the Turkish State Meteorological Service has issued "yellow" and "orange" alerts for 31 out of the country's 81 provinces.

Several natural areas registered as ‘strictly protected’
Several natural protected areas in Artvin, Van, Kayseri and Bartın provinces have been registered and declared as "sensitive areas to be strictly protected," according to a decree published in the Official Gazette.

Over 17,000 Russians visit Amasra by cruise in 10 months
More than 600 Russian tourists came to the northern province of Bartın's Amasra district with the Astoria Grande cruise ship, which approached the port for the 17th time, increasing the number of Russians visiting the district by cruise over 17,000 in the last 10 months.
Rainfall jams Istanbul traffic, density at 71 pct
Due to the heavy rainfall that started in the morning hours of May 17 and accidents that have occurred at some points of the city, traffic was jammed once again in Istanbul.
Citizens leaving their homes to go to work and school were stuck in heavy traffic. The traffic congestion occurred in both directions on Kadıköy D-100 Highway.

Fire breaks out at Amasra mine during dam removal works
