Life sentences sought for femicide suspect
A prosecutor has sought life sentences for a suspect in the murder of a 23-year-old woman, Bensu Narlı, in the Aegean province of Muğla's Bodrum district.
The first hearing of the case took place on Aug. 17, as the prosecution's assessment sought life sentences for suspect Serhat Kantaş on charges of "premeditated murder" in connection with her death.

Artifacts in sarcophagi to shed light on archaeology world
Works have been ongoing precisely in an area where a sarcophagus and many other simple-type tombs have been discovered in the southwestern province of Bodrum's Muğla district. The cover of the sarcophagus, which includes 2,400-year-old historical artifacts, was opened by the Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy last week.

Aegean Sea island for sale for $4 million
A 56-acre island, known as Küçük Orak Island off the coast of the Aegean province of Muğla, was put up for sale for 125 million Turkish Liras ($18 million).
There are 350 olive trees and a villa on the island, which is a first-degree natural protected area without zoning status.

Nine missing as migrant boat sinks off western Turkey
12 people were killed on June 17 after a dinghy carrying migrants sank off Turkey's western coast, the state-run Anadolu news agency said, adding that 31 others had been rescued.
