One arrest and fines for fires in Chania, Corfu, Ilia, Ioannina, Thessaloniki and Evia
The Fire Department has made an arrest and imposed administrative fines for fires in Chania, Corfu, Ilia, Ioannina, Thessaloniki and Evia.
In particular:
Gavdos: The Coast Guard rescued 38 migrants – Two traffickers were arrested
The rescued migrants are temporarily hosted in a space provided by the Municipality of Chania
Summer Exhibition: 100 posters for Crete

Venizelos Tombs to be included in new privatization fund
The Venizelos Tombs at Chania, Crete, will be included in the new privatization “superfund” which will exploit state-owned assets, such as Greek railways, postal service and a number of utilities, following an amendment tabled in the parliament on Friday regarding the properties of Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT).

According to research conduced by the Polytechnic of Crete in conjunction with the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, foreign tourists from non-Scandinavian countries visiting the island of Crete make up nearly half the total number from 2010 onwards.
