Romania Gives Moldova Million Pills Against Nuclear Radioactivity
Moldova has received a batch of over a million potassium iodide pills from Romania to help in the event of a nuclear accident, in the context of the fighting in Ukraine at the Zaporizhzhia atomic power plant.
Moldova Cracks Paramilitary Gang Recruiting Ukraine Fighters
The Moldovan intelligence service, SIS, on Wednesday said it had broken up a paramilitary group that had links to the pro-Russian separatist cause in eastern Ukraine.
The SIS said the group had been under counter-terrorist surveillance for over a year, and the SIS had in the meantime established connections between its members and mercenary entities in eastern Ukraine.
Financial Support For Participants in Chernobyl Cleanup
The participants in the alleviation of consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident and families of the dead participants will get lump sums of 1,000 lei in financial assistance. A total of 2,570 persons will receive such aid on the occasion of the Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day that is celebrated on April 26, IPN reports.
