Qatar Airways says flights now exempt from US laptop ban
Qatar Airways announced on July 6 that it had won exemption from a U.S. ban on passengers taking laptops and tablet computers on flights from its Doha hub.
It is the latest carrier after Abu Dhabi's Etihad, Dubai's Emirates and Turkish Airlines to meet new rules imposed by Washington in March for direct flights from 10 airports in Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa.
UAE's Bin Zayed, Serbia's Vucic discuss ways of boosting cooperation
BELGRADE/DUBAI- Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic discussed in Belgrade on Wednesday "ways of boosting bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation as well as a range of regional and global issues of mutual concern," the Dubai-based English-language daily Gulf News reported.

Court orders three years in jail for machete-wielding attacker of Gezi protesters
An Istanbul court on May 11 ordered three years in jail for a man who attacked Gezi protesters with a machete in Istanbul in 2013, Doğan News Agency has reported.
The court made its decision on four suspects including the machete-wielding attacker, Sabri Çelebi, over attacking protesters during the Gezi Park protests, stating that the man injured four people with a sharp object.
