Smuggled cigarettes arrive in Turkey from Georgia, northern Iraq and Bulgaria, while there are large sums of money being transferred from the eastern parts of Turkey to Istanbul in line with smuggling activities, according to recent data from Turkey's financial crime investigation board (MASAK), daily Milliyet has reported.

Greece signed an investment deal worth up to 500 million euros a year with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on Thursday, gaining a rare financial endorsement from the region for its attempts to remain solvent.

London based Mazi Mas (meaning "with us") is run by Nikandre Kopcke. To pay homage to her Greek roots she named her restaurant after the phraze, "Elate na fate mazi mas" (Come eat With us), but that's not all that's unique about the restaurant.

A total of 1,793 migrants detained in Greece without proper travel documents were returned to their homelands in March, the Greek Police reported on Tuesday.

The former head of Turkey?s top science body and two of its employees were detained on April 14 for hiring an employee with a fake diploma, amid allegations of illegal wire-tapping targeting senior government officials.
