Two PKK terrorists nabbed in Istanbul, Azaz: Minister

Two PKK terrorists, preparing to carry out attacks, have been detained, one in Istanbul, the other in northern Syria, the interior minister has said.

Announcing the captures with tweets on Aug. 11, Süleyman Soylu firstly declared the capture of a suicide bomber in Azaz, a Syrian city some 30 kilometers away from Aleppo.

US extradites man behind deadly Reyhanlı attacks

The United States has extradited Mehmet Gezer, who gave the order for the Reyhanlı attacks that killed some 52 civilians in 2013, to Türkiye.

Patriarchate lights caldrons to produce Holy Myron oil

In a rare event done only once a decade, the Fener Greek Patriarchate has lit the caldrons to prepare some 350 to 400 kilos of the Holy Myron oil, which will be sent to all the Orthodox churches worldwide to be used in baptism.

Famous Adana kebab launched into space, reaches stratosphere

A kebab chef in the southern province of Adana has attempted to send a dish of "boru kebabı," roughly called "pipe kebab," into space with a weather balloon, which exploded in the stratosphere after a three-hour flight and fell into the Mediterranean Sea.

"I am a man who likes to make firsts," Yaşar Aydın told Demirören News Agency on April 12.

Turkish couple sets sail for world tour with catamaran

A Turkish couple has started a five-year-long world tour with their catamaran on April 10, with local officials bidding farewell to them in a small ceremony in the southern province of Antalya.

Özlem and Özkan Şahin got married in the province's Finike district in 2014 and have been living in their catamaran since then.

Lawyer refuses to defend burglars

A lawyer has refused to defend a client after she learned that the suspect and his partners in crime stole items from the Turkish Red Crescent's warehouse.

Last week, burglars broke into the Red Crescent's logistics center in the southern province of Hatay's Antakya district. The center is used to store aid materials to be distributed to those in need.
