Police have apprehended five suspected suicide bombers on Turkey's border with Syria, according to a statement released by the governor's office of the southern province of Hatay. 

A 12 meter-long white whale washed ashore in the southern Turkish province of Hatay on June 20, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Locals who live in Hatay's Karaağaç neighborhood noticed the dead whale due to its odor and informed the local authorities.

A municipality in southern Turkey has decided to remove all signs written in Arabic in order to "remove visual pollution," according to its official Twitter account. 

The municipality of Hatay province shared photos of officials removing Arabic signs from several shops on May 21. 

Seven outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were killed in a Turkish airstrike carried out in the Çukurca district of the southeastern province of Hakkari, Anadolu Agency reported on May 13.

According to a statement released from Turkish General Staff, the militants were killed while trying to infiltrate into the Güven Mountain military base region from northern Iraq. 

One of the prosecutors in a controversial case into trucks belonging to the National Intelligence Agency (MİT) case, who was later arrested for alleged links to the network of Fethullah Gülen, was aware of a deadly bombing in the southern province of Hatay, but did not take action to put pressure on the intelligence, according to a report. 

The governor's office in the southern province of Hatay denied reports on May 6 claiming that the Turkish army would be deployed to the opposition-held Syrian province of Idlib.
