Turkey strikes PKK in Syria, Iraq for second day, responds to US criticism

Turkey continued its strikes on outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets in northern Iraq and the People's Protection Units (YPG) in northern Syria for a second day on April 26, while also responding to criticism from the United States. 

The Turkish Armed Forces said it hit PKK targets in the northern Iraqi region of Zap on April 26, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

66 PKK militants 'neutralized' in one week: Turkish Interior Ministry

A total of 66 militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have been "neutralized" in security operations in one week, the Turkish Interior Ministry announced on April 24. 

According to the ministry, 53 militants were killed, eight surrendered and five were captured alive in some 321 ground and air operations carried out between April 17 and 24.

3:40 p.m. - Supreme Election Board (YSK) head Sadi Güven said in a statement that seals featuring the word "yes" instead of "choice" would be counted as valid. 

He also stated that ballot papers on which YSK seals were applied to the front instead of the back would also be deemed valid. 

Syrian refugees in southern Turkish province struggle to live on side of road

Syrian refugees in the southern province of Hatay are struggling to continue their lives on the side of the roads, as they have spent all of their money in attempting to cross illegally into Turkey. 

The refugees in the Kırıkhan district of Hatay have now formed their own tent city and wish to obtain temporary IDs. 

Prosecutor seeks 15 years in jail for former prosecutor of MİT trucks case

The Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office on April 13 demanded 15 years in jail for the former prosecutor of a controversial National Intelligence Agency (MİT) trucks case on charges of "membership to a terrorist organization," state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
