Animal rescue efforts continue around newly-built dam

With buildings in the Yusufeli region in the northeastern province of Artvin submerging in the waters of the newly-built dam, volunteers from all across Türkiye are coming in scores to help save the animals trapped in these buildings.

The water levels continue to rise in Yusufeli, Türkiye's highest dam, where water retention processes started on Nov. 22 last year.

Akar expects ‘moratorium’ in the Aegean between June 15-September 15

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar on Friday said he expects a moratorium with Greece in military and airforce exercises in the Aegean Sea between June 15 and September 15, to accommodate tourism, as relations continued to thaw following the deadly earthquakes in Turkey last February.

Baby saved from rubble reunites with mother 54 days after quake

A baby who was saved from the rubble in the southern province of Hatay 128 hours after the earthquake has been reunited with his mother 54 days later.

Yasemin Begdaş, the mother of the baby whom nurses named "Gizem," was rescued alive, while the baby's father and two brothers lost their lives in the deadly Feb. 6 quakes.

Foundations laid for new housing in quake-hit Gaziantep, Kilis

The foundations of the new housings for quake survivors in the southeastern provinces of Gaziantep and Kilis were laid as of March 31, Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum has announced.

The foundations of 7,087 houses were laid in Gaziantep and 649 houses in Kilis with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
