Robert Lambrou, the candidate of the xenophobic Alternative for Germany (AfD) in the elections for the parliament of the State of Hesse, is full of contradictions. Although he is the son of a Greek man from the town of Thiva, he is an official of a party which was founded with the sole aim of throwing Greece out of the euro.

Dacic meets with Puttrich

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic met with Lucia Puttrich, minister of federal and European affairs of the German state of Hesse, in Belgrade on Monday, expressing readiness for stepping up cooperation with German states.

Angela Merkel Will Quit as Christian Democrat Party Chairwoman

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has told leaders of her party that she will not seek re-election as chairwoman at a conference in early December, a senior senior party source said.

Despite stepping down from her role as chairwoman of the Christian Democrats, Merkel maintains that she will remain as chancellor. 

Vulin receives Bouffier

BELGRADE - Volker Bouffier, Minister President of the German state of Hesse, on Wednesday told Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin he was impressed with the results Serbia had achieved in the employment sector over the past years.

Bouffier also said Germany supported Serbia's European path.

Dacic: Level of Serbia-Germany relations very high

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic on Tuesday met with Volker Bouffier, Minister President of the German state of Hesse, who is on a three-day visit to Serbia.

The level of the relations between Serbia and Germany is very high, and they have improved significantly over the past years - politically as well as economically, Dacic said.
