Sepulveda wins ‘Queen Stage’ of Tour of Turkey
Eduardo Sepulveda from the Drone Hopper-Androni team won the 57th Tour of Turkey's Stage four, which is known as the "Queen Stage" and is the most challenging lap between the western province of İzmir and Mount Spil in the neighboring province of Manisa, on April 13.

57th Tour of Turkey kicks off
The 57th Tour of Turkey will start on April 10 from the Aegean tourism hub Bodrum and end on April 17 in the country's largest metropolis, Istanbul, with 175 cyclists of 25 teams from 14 countries participating, the head of the Turkish Cycling Federation (TBF) has said.
The Çanakkale 1915 bridge, inaugurated on March 18, will be part of the total route of 1,308 kilometers this year.

Number of irregular migrants caught in Turkish seas rises
The number of irregular migrants caught in Turkey's seas and migrant movement have increased since the start of the year this year compared to the same period of 2021, data from the country's Coast Guard have shown.
Over 193,000 Syrians became Turkish citizens: Minister
To date, more than 193,000 Syrians have become Turkish citizens, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said, accusing Europe of overlooking the migration issue.
He noted that around 3.7 million Syrians live in Turkey under international protection and more than 700,000 Syrian children were born in the country.
Over 50 migrants pushed back in Aegean rescued
Turkish Coast Guard units rescued 52 migrants off the coast of İzmir province after they were pushed back by Greek authorities.
The Coast Guard Command said on Feb. 15 in a statement they learned that there was a group of migrants in life rafts off Dikili, Seferihisar, Foça and Çeşme districts and dispatched units to the areas.

Passenger traffic at Turkish airports rise 77 percent in January
Turkey's airports served a total of 9.3 million passengers in the first month of 2022, marking a 77.4 percent increase from the same month of the previous year, data from the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ) have shown.
Minister slams Greek authorities over mistreatment of migrants
Turkey's Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has slammed Greek authorities, claiming that the Greek has thrown three migrants into the Aegean Sea, which resulted in one of the victims' death.
Soylu said on Twitter that two of the migrants were rescued while the other one had died following an incident off the coast of the Çeşme district in Turkey's İzmir province.
Police crack down on major fraud network
Security forces have cracked down on a fraud ring that included a judge, prosecutors and a former soldier.
The crime group, which is led by Salice Fedakar, has been on the National Intelligence Organization's (MİT) radar for some time.
