Turkey's Pegasus to acquire stakes in İzAir from Air Berlin

Pegasus Airlines has reached an agreement to buy Air Berlin's 29.51 percent of stake in their subsidiary İzAir for 1.2 million euros, the carrier said in a written statement late on March 8. 

The share of the company in İzAir will increase to 98.63 percent after the deal is finalized and approved by authorities, according to the statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). 

Turkish PM mocks main opposition leader for charter referendum remarks

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has mocked the leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, over the latter's remarks on the April 16 constitutional referendum that will decide whether the current parliamentary system should be replaced by an executive presidency. 

130 migrants apprehended off Turkey's Aegean coast

At least 130 migrants were apprehended off the Çeşme district in the Aegean province of İzmir as they attempted to reach the nearby Greek island of Chios on March 5, Turkish Coast Guard officials have said.      

A Turkish Coast Guard search-and-rescue ship found two boats with migrants trying to reach Greece.
