Serbian Court Tries Kosovo Albanian for Wartime Killings

The trial of Nezir Mehmetaj, a Kosovo Albanian accused of participation in war crimes against civilians in the village of Rudice in the Klina municipality in June and July 1999, opened in Belgrade Higher Court on Thursday.

Mehmetaj is accused of involvement in killing seven people and burning and looting houses in Rudice as a member of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

Kosovo: Serb arrested after reporting burglary

A Serb man has been arrested on Monday afternoon in Klina municipality suspected of committing war crimes against Albanians during Kosovo war in 1998-99, GazetaExpress reports.

The Kosovo Police in Klina have arrested on Monday Milorad Zajic after he went to the police station to report a burglary, TV channel KTV has reported.

Shots fired at Serb home in Kosovo

KLINA - Unknown perpetrators fired shots last night at a Serb house in the Rudica village in Kosovo-Metohija's Klina municipality, sources at Kosovo's Ministry for Return and Communities told Tanjug.

No one was injured in the attack on Zarko Siljkovic's family home, which has been reported to the Kosovo Police.

Another Serb returnee's house in Kosovo set on fire

ISTOK - A house owned by the Serb returnee family Pantic in the village of Ljug, Klina municipality, was set on fire, the head of the Pec District Vinka Radosavljevic told Tanjug.

The incident occurred last night, said Radosavljevic, adding that the part of the house that caught fire was empty as the Pantic family no longer lives in it.

Only six Serbs have remained in Istok.

Serb house torched in Kosovo-Metohija

KLINA - A house owned by a family of Serb returnees has been torched in the Drsnik village in Kosovo-Metohija's Klina municipality, the head of the Pec District Vinka Radosavljevic told Tanjug on Tuesday.

The incident took place at around 9 p.m. on Monday, and there was no one in the house at the time the fire broke out.
