Turkey condoles with India over deadly floods

Turkey on July 24 extended its condolences to India over the loss of lives in recent floods and landslides in the western Maharashtra state.

"We are deeply saddened that the floods and landslides in the Maharashtra province of India have caused the loss of more than 100 lives" and left dozens missing and several others injured, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Twenty-two Covid Patients Die in Indian Hospital Due to Oxygen Leak

At least 22 Covid patients have died in a hospital in India after they lost oxygen supply due to a leak.

The incident occurred on Wednesday while an oxygen tanker was refilling a storage tank at the Zakir Hussain hospital in Nashik city. It's unclear how the accident happened and why it interrupted supply to patients.

Hospitals in India Overloaded as Country Sees Another Record Peak in Covid-19 Cases

New coronavirus cases in India are 273,810, with 1,619 deaths on Monday, which is a new daily record amid a second wave of the pandemic. Hospitals and health care infrastructure is overburdened.

The latest peak brought the total cases to 15 million, with 178,769 deaths so far, stated Indian Health Ministry.

India Marks Another Daily Peak of Coronavirus Reaching 12 Million for First Time

India has reported on Monday its worst single-day increase in COVID-19 cases since October, taking the tally to more than 12 million for the first time ever.

A total of 68,020 new coronavirus cases were reported in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said. It was the highest daily rise since Oct. 11, according to a Reuters tally.
