Nationwide Lockdown Enters into Force in Bulgaria
As of today, March 22, until the end of the month, a third lockdown enters into force across the country in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus. In-person classes in schools, nurseries and kindergartens are suspended. Restaurants, malls, cinemas and theaters are closing.

21-year-old Man Suspected of Committing Murder in Sofia District "Mladost" is Detained
The police arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of killing a woman in the Mladost district in Sofia, the Interior Ministry said.

Former Mayor of Mladost District in Sofia Sentenced to 20 Years of Imprisonment
The Specialised Court on 15th of April sentenced the former mayor of the metropolitan area "Mladost", Desislava Ivancheva, to 20 years in prison and a fine of 10,000 BGN and deprivation of the right to take a public post. Her deputy Bilyana Petrova was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 BGN.
Court Postpones Trial Against Former Mladost Mayor
Sofia. The Special Criminal Court postponed the trial against former Mladost district mayor Desislava Ivancheva to September 13, BNR has reported. The trial could not begin because Ivancheva and another defendant did not receive the indictment on time.
