The Romanian organised crime prosecutors on Tuesday charged brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate with organising a criminal group, aggravated human trafficking, aggravated rape, unlawful access to a computer system, tampering with the integrity of computer data and instigating battery or other violence.

Prime Minister Florin Citu announced on Tuesday that he will ask for an investigation, as quickly as possible, regarding the way the Ministry of Health prepared the fourth wave of the pandemic. "I will request an investigation, an analysis, because I want to know how the fourth wave was prepared.

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued a Code Orange alert of persistent heat wave and particularly severe thermal discomfort, valid, on Monday, in 16 counties and the municipality of Bucharest, and a Code Yellow warning, valid in eight counties.

Containers loaded with waste brought via ship from various countries were spotted by the border police of southeastern Constanta port, the waste being illegally imported into Romania by two companies registered in the county of Prahova and Bucharest Municipality, the Coast Guard informed on Thursday. The cargo were falsely declared as being used domestic goods.

The hospital disinfectants which didn't meet the appropriate standards and regarding which a criminal case was opened had been used in over 30 hospitals around the country, Healthcare Minister Sorina Pintea stated on Tuesday.

The European Commission said on Tuesday it is providing 155 million euro ($184 million) to Romania to finance projects for modernization of water infrastructure in six counties, SeeNews reported. 

The financial support will be directed to six major projects in Arges, Dambovita, Maramures, Prahova, Satu Mare and Vaslui counties, the European Commission said in a press release.

The National Forecaster on Sunday issued a Code Orange warning of snowfalls, blizzard and black ice for ten counties in Moldavia (eastern Romania) and Muntenia (southern), in place from 8 p.m. on Sunday till 8 p.m. on Monday.
