A Code Yellow warning for icy conditions has been issued for seven Bulgarian regions on January 27, according to the website of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

A Code Yellow warning for fog has been issued for 20 Bulgarian regions today, 17 January, according to the website of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

A total of BGN 55 million has been invested by the Sofia Municipality in municipal healthcare over the last four years. This was announced by Mayor Yordanka Fandakova during her visit to the renovated General Surgery Clinic at First City Hospital, for which new endoscopic equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures was purchased.

The Foreign Ministry on Tuesday strongly criticised the Russian embassy in Sofia for organising an exhibition commemorating "75 years of the liberation of Eastern Europe from Nazism", which will take place on September 9 in Bulgaria's capital.

A forest fire broke out again between the villages of Vlado Trichkov and Rebrovo (Sofia district), on August 20. The flames engulfed dry grass and trees. The mayors of the two villages are urgently seeking volunteers.

Sofia municipality intends to apply for BGN 218 million from the Operational Program "Environment" for the purchase of new electric buses, trams and trolleys for the public transport. The goal of the investment is to reduce air pollution.

The Sofia City Court ordered the Metropolitan Municipality to take urgent action against the dirty air by starting washing the main streets in Sofia twice a month from May to September and the rest of the year once a month.

Within two weeks, local authorities must submit to the court a plan to build more bicycle tracks, including from the districts to the city center.

Code Yellow warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms has been issued for 10 Bulgarian regions, said the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

The warning for heavy rain and hail is in place for the regions of Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Sofia city, Sofia district, Pazardzhik, Lovech, Gabrovo, Plovdiv and Stara Zagora.

Badly executed works found by the Supervisor and the Assignor are being removed from Graf Ignatiev Street, Slaveykov Square, Garibaldi Square and the Garden of St. Sedmochislenitsi, the Municipality of Sofia reported.

The Municipality of Sofia has launched a public procurement contract amounting to BGN 160 million for maintenance, repairs and construction of lighting in the city for the next 5 years.

The total amount is divided into four positions and candidates will be able to apply for one of them until 7 June, Trud reports.
