Bulgaria: Flu Epidemic in Stara Zagora Region from January 17

The Regional Health Inspectorate in Stara Zagora expects the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARIs) to exceed 330 per 10,000 people in the coming week and suggested to the members of the Regional Influenza Control Staff that an epidemic be declared for the period January 17-23 incl.

2,600-Year Old Stone Head of Apollo Donated To Bulgarian Historical Museum

A benefactor requesting anonymity has turned in a stone head - probably from a statue of Apollo - discovered in a potato field near the village of Alexandrovo, Stara Zagora district to the National Historical Museum (NHM).

The donation was made with the co-operation of the General Directorate of the Interior Ministry.

Bulgaria's Beroe to Celebrate Centenary with Friendly Match Against Partizan

The Bulgarian football club Beroe will celebrate its centenary with a friendly match against Partizan Belgrade on May 17.

The friendly match will be the culmination of the series of events marking the centenary entitled "100 years the world is Beroe".

The match will be accompanied by a special programme, awarding of merited football players and many other surprises.

Bulgarian Police Detains Ten Syrian Illegal Migrants, Alleged Trafficker

Bulgarian police detained early on Sunday a group of ten Syrian illegal migrants, as they were traveling through the territory of the district of Stara Zagora.

The illegal migrants were uncovered in the cargo compartment of a van and the driver of the vehicle was also detained.
