Union says Starbucks fired organizing committee at US store

A union representing Starbucks employees on Tuesday accused the coffee chain of firing workers attempting to organize in the US state of Tennessee.

Starbucks Workers United said employees comprising "almost the entire union organizing committee" at a store in Memphis were fired weeks after two Starbucks stores in New York became the first to formally organize.

Marc Bernier died after a three-week battle with the disease, his radio station reported. He was 65, the Croatian portal Index.hr reported. "It's with great sadness that WNDB and Southern Stone Communications announce the passing of Marc Bernier, who informed and entertained WNDB radio listeners for over 30 years," the Dayton Beach station reported.

The U.S. police issued an amber alert for Yasemin Uyar and her 2-year-old son, Sebastian, on July 9 afternoon after the tot didn't show up for daycare and his mom didn't arrive at work.

Software mogul John McAfee dies in Spain by suicide, lawyer says

British-born U.S. technology entrepreneur John McAfee died on June 23  by suicide in a Barcelona prison after the Spanish high court authorized his extradition to the United States on tax evasion charges, his lawyer told Reuters.

McAfee's lawyer, Javier Villalba, said the anti-virus software pioneer died by hanging as his nine months in prison brought him to despair.

Nashville blast investigation leads US agents to suburban home

Federal agents investigating the explosion of a motor home in Nashville were searching a two-story suburban house on Dec. 26 for clues to the blast, which injured three people in the heart of America's country music capital on Christmas Day.

Federal agents were also trying to identify apparent human remains found near the exploded vehicle.
