Security forces dismantled two organized crime groups in the capital Ankara and Istanbul, resulting in the apprehension of more than 70 suspects, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced.

Prominent journalist Hasan Kılıç dies aged 79
Senior journalist Hasan Kılıç, a former employee of Hürriyet and the Turkish Journalism Association (TGC) member, has died at the age of 79 on Dec. 18.
Kılıç, who worked at Hürriyet for 34 years, died of a heart attack.

MP candidate arrested on alleged terror charges
A parliamentary candidate for the Green Left Party (YSP) has been arrested in the investigation into the far-left Socialist Party of the Oppressed's (ESP) youth organization.
Running for a seat in the Central Anatolian city of Eskişehir, Müslüm Koyun was detained during a raid on his house on April 30. The arrest comes as the country prepares for presidential and general elections.
