A jury in Virginia is scheduled to hear opening statements Tuesday in a defamation lawsuit filed by Johnny Depp against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

Depp says Heard libeled him when she wrote an op-ed piece in The Washington Post in 2018 referring to herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse."

2Cellos concert marks 30 years of Slovenia, Croatia UN membership

New York – Slovenia and Croatia marked the 30th anniversary of their UN membership in New York on Sunday with a concert by world-renowned Slovenian-Croatian duo 2Cellos, who thus started their farewell world tour.

The concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn was also marked by expressions of solidarity with Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.

Slovenian artwork included in first space exhibition

New York – Slovenian artist Eva Petrič has contributed two miniature artworks to the first space exhibition at the International Space Station (ISS). Miniature works by 65 artists from around the world, including Petrič, will reach the ISS onboard am Antares rocket, which is scheduled to launch from Virginia today.

Harpootlian presented her credentials to President Borut Pahor on Thursday, after the US Embassy in Ljubljana was headed by the chargé d’affaires for more than a year. Harpootlian said on the occasion that Slovenia and the US had tremendous opportunities to strengthen their ties in many ways.
