Pastor will not press charges over attack in Budapest
SUBOTICA - Istvan Pastor, speaker of the assembly of the Serbian province of Vojvodina and leader of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, has said on Wednesday that he will not press charges over the attack in Budapest, but that he expects the Hungarian authorities to do something in that regard.

Works on railway line from S. Pazova to N. Sad to start 2015
SREMSKI KARLOVCI - The modernisation of the railway line from Stara Pazova to Novi Sad in Serbia's Vojvodina province is scheduled to start at the beginning of next year, utilising around EUR 300 million worth of funds from a Russian loan, Serbian Railways Director Dragoljub Simonovic announced on Friday.

Dacic: We must respect legacy of our ancestors
BELGRADE - The 69th anniversary of the breakthrough of the Axis lines on the Syrmian Front and the final battles for Yugoslavia's liberation from Nazi occupation in World War II was marked in Adasevci near Sid, northwestern Serbia.
Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic laid a wreath on the behalf of the government at the Syrmian Front memorial and paid tribute to the victims.

Discussions start on Vojvodina statute
NOVI SAD - Discussions on a joint position on the new statute of Vojvodina have started in the assembly of Serbia's northern province to define its constitutional status.
The draft statute has been drawn up by a group of experts appointed by the competent committee of the provincial assembly to align the provisions of the act with the Serbian constitution.

Serbian Province in Line for Reduced Powers
The government of the Serbian province of Vojvodina and its capital Novi Sad are soon to be transformed into an "executive council" and a "seat of the provincial authority", if a new draft statute for the province is adopted.
"The northern province of Vojvodina will no longer be in charge of establishing basic policy at the level of the autonomous province of Vojvodina," it reads.
